What is the reason the subcontractor is not accepting new orders? Availability of furnace slots.

The existing painting subcontractor refuses the new part number. I will explain the reasons based on the available slots and the color change system.

Despite being a long-time outsourcing partner, only new item numbers are being rejected. It is not due to price negotiation; it is a capacity issue. ────────────── ■Cause of Occurrence The production capacity of the painting factory is determined by the number of batches processed per day in the furnace. When the schedule is filled with regular orders from existing customers, new orders cannot be accommodated physically. ■Truth As new colors are added, the setup for color changes increases, further reducing the effective capacity. Factories with tight capacity have no choice but to prioritize existing products with higher unit prices. The reasons for rejections are not explained, leading to misunderstandings that it is a pricing issue. ■Improvement Measures Aligning new colors with existing ones increases the likelihood of acceptance. If capacity still does not open up, a secondary supplier will be established in parallel. Please utilize the outsourcing capability confirmation sheet.
